i would like some advice from somebody who has been playing acuostic (pardon my spelling) for a while..i just started about a week ago and i would like to start playing songs now (i have played an elecetric for about a year and bass for 4 years so i am not unfamiliar with guitar stuff) could somebody please recommend a song or two that would be fairly simple since i am just begining to play acuostic? i would really appre she ate it greatly.. thank you! smile.gif

Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

That one will give you some practice on arpeggiations and using some different chords. Plus, it really sounds nice acoustically.

Knockin on Heavens door - Bob Dylan

That one just has some nice simple chords, but it's a nice song.

Maybe even Wish You Were Here might be a good one to learn. That one is by Pink Floyd.

Some artists have put out "unplugged" albums - Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, for example. Or you could try some of the "folk era" stuff from the late '50's - early '60's like Ian & Sylvia, Peter, Paul & Mary, Kingston Trio etc.

I often recommend an acoustic version of the tune "Hey Joe" for starting out because it's a relatively simple progression (C-G-A-D-E) but can be improvised around and be made more and more complex as ones skill grows.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.
