I play a Yamaha FGX412, and I've played it through three different amps. But that was when I was in the UK, and I could borrow the amps. Now I'm in Germany, and I need to buy one over the next few months. But where do I start with choosing one?

The three I've used so far were a nameless 8W amp (which, apart from the apalling scratching from the pots, was fine); a Peavey 10W (sorry, I've got no more details), which really didn't make the right kinds of noise however much I fiddled with it -- too harsh; and an Acoustic 120 (I think), which I always considered a bass amp on account of the 12" speaker, but which (apart from being way too loud) wasn't bad.

I've had a quick scan through the 'which amp' posts in the 'amps & settings' topic, but that's all aimed at solid body jobs, which I ain't got.

I guess I'm after something around 15-20W, with a reasonable speaker size (10-12", or maybe 2x6-8"), but that's suited to an acoustic guitar. My initial though is that I just want to make it louder, not change the sound, which is already quite full -- neither boomy nor tinny. Not too fussy really... blink.gif

Any clues from all you experts?...

I have a Peavey Ecoustic 112 - one of the older ones, without all the built in effects.
