Microphones... ...which do you use?

I generally use a Shure SM-55. This is not a common microphone anymore and they quit making them years ago. They've recently started making re-issues but they are nowhere near as good as the originals. I used Shure SM-57's and 58's for a long time before that and both are great mic's. Sort of the work-horse standard of stage performance.
Un-plugged is not the same as

i use a cheap crappy Nady one....but then again i can't really sing either.
If you're talking about the Nady SP-5 microphones, they're about as close to a SM-58 as you'll EVER get for the price .. Nady mics are REALLY good

I have 2 mics.
Shure SM58
ElectroVoice ND707
They are both dynamic mics. The EV mic is really good for voice and a hair better than the SM58 imo

ive got a rode nt1a, i use it for everything (i didnt know nowt about mics just plumbed for the most expensive i could afford that had good write ups tbh). its a great mic, but its a little too sensitive for my needs, it picks up my bed creaking as i strech to press play and rec or stop (easy fix though, all adds to the ambience of my "studio" lol) but plug it into my (preamp/eq/)compressor and its unuseable, im picking up house groan from people moving about downstairs (again i can compress in a bounce down track, so no major, its just a pain to work around). so now ive learnt abit about mics w00t. i am defo planning on getting a dynamic (just so i can stick it right up close and personal to my amp with no fear, and compress on the fly), them shure 58s' there seems to be a couple of types beta 58a's, sm's, pg's, i dunno the difference, tbh i probably get for the mid price one and hope its ok. i do plan on getting another nt1a when ive got the cash burning a hole in my pocket (i know, ive picked it to pieces for what i need it for, but i trust it. you know what i mean?) just for the luxury of the idea of capturing a stereo voice, but ive got far too much nessecity buy before luxuries so its probably just a fat pipe dream
