Greetings kids. A bit more on this contest - just 'cos I like to make sure everyone knows the deal smile.gif

Update (carrot):

Myself and Joe Hard, the head judge, are continuing to stay in touch over this and both bought prizes to send the winners. He's got a load of fantastic gear, including, I think, a plaque for the winner. I have somewhat less dignified (and certainly less expensive) purchases - some plastic nonsense (guitar accessories, obviously). So this contest will be worth winning. You're gonna love it. We'd both like to make this into an annual contest, so it would be nice if we'd all show some effort and try to make this as good as it could be. smile.gif

Reminder (stick):

The final deadline for the contest was June 8th, which isn't far away now. There is only six days to go. I may have to postpone the judging process for a few more days - ironically, because of technical issues (a judge has computer problems). So you may have a little more time - but please get your entries in as soon as possible. Either post them in the sticky thread (in the Technical Issues and Live Performance Issues), or PM Joe Hard and/or Quinnfrie.

We'll post when your time is up, and announce the winners when we're ready. Good luck everyone. smile.gif
When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE.

are there any guidelines to this (besides the obvious one that it has to be acoustic)? Can it have other instruments (like piano, organ, or drum)? Is it supposed to be a cover or an original? Is there a certain length it should be?

The criteria is up to the judges, of which I'm not one, but I'll do my best. As far as I'm aware there's no guidelines for length. It's supposed to be an acoustic cover of a non-acoustic song. And I have no problem with one or two other instruments, but please keep it as stripped down as possible.

Today is the final day to get your songs in. I am having problems at home with my computer. I am going to try to do all I can to see if we cant get a winner decided by the 15th of June, next Friday.

Yep, deadline is up. Well done to all the people that entered by the way, I enjoyed listening to your hard work. Now we (the judges) just need to come to an agreement and announce the winner!
