Anyone know anything about this guitar. This sounds from what little I can find out to be a pretty good guitar. It is all wood, on-board tuner, and here's the part I don't know. The neck is supposed to be like an electric as far as action. That would be good for me, but I would like it to have a wide nut width 1 3/4" or more to suit my fingerpicking style. I can't find one locally to play and hate to buy over the net without playing it.

Thanks

Most 12s have a 1 7/8" nut (or at least 12s like Gibson, Martin and Guild). I would say the odds are that Dean has an 1 3/4' nut which might be fine for a "strummer" but not that great for a fingerstyle player. But it depends on what a person prefers.

(It looks pretty though....)

It may be a laminate. Other DEAN guitars that use solid wood say SOLID to reference the part they are talking about be it top, sides, or back.

I can't see how an all solid wood guitar can go for $500. Just do your research before you commit.

Edit... Nope haven't played that one. I found a blemished one for 418$ though Really pretty guitar!
If you have your heart set on a twelve, The ART & Luthiery (Seagulls value line) Has three or four solid wood top modles below that 500$ price point. Or if it's just a once in a while instrument, The musician's friend Rouge rd12 is the world's most perfect beater 12.

Just an idea... Not an actual serving suggestion.

IMO, if you are going for a 12 string and on a budget "of sorts", the Ovation Balladeer 12 str is a great buy.

Just tuck this away in the back of your head. After the novelty wears off, you will find that the 12 string will sit in the case at least 85% of the time compared to your 6 string.

I have 3 12-string guitars:

D'Armond electric
Taylor 655CE
Taylor T-5 Koa

Those guitars see daylight maybe once a month if that compared to my other 21 guitars.
