Can you already read sheet music? If not, that's where you need to start. If so, I recommend working on scales (can be translated from tabliture if need be). I'm afraid I don't know any websites that can help out, but learning the actual keyboard, notes/scores, and scales were where I started in lessons. Of course that was 16 years ago so I don't remember much else from the beginning of them. >_<

I'd recommend not learning from the Internet. Face-to-face interaction is always better. Find a good piano teacher and go from there.
If you are wanting to be a synth player, then definitely learn to read music, take at least enough piano lessons to be familiar with the instrument, and then just start experimenting. Listen to a lot of good playing, and play a lot. That's the best way to learn to do anything well, really, after someone teaches you the "basics".

If you are having trouble finding a teacher, and are enrolled in a school, check out some of the music people at your school. Music majors usually have a strong basis in piano and could probably teach you.
