I've done a lot of looking and played a lot of acoustics over the past three months, and I've narrowed my choice down to these two:

Any thoughts on which I should buy are greatly appreciated.

I'm not a fan of the wood used on the D-15, just a little to vanilla for me. I've never played them though, so im afraid thats all ive got to offer wink.gif. Good luck with your purchase, im sure you wont be disappointed either way

Punk try an ask why ours be better,
It could be the iron mask or the Cosby sweater.

It doesn't give any dimensional specs (like nut width and scale length, etc) on the second one for comparison so it's hard to say. Try to find both in a store to play and balance the difference in price against how it feels when you play them. I'm sure the sound in either would be good.

I tend to like Rosewood over Mahogany for acoustics. I'd go with the second one myself.

that d-15 keeps getting more and more expensive. they are damned nice guitars. i guess they are realizing more and more what they're worth as they keep selling.

i would go with the d-15 only because i haven't played the other. the 15 is GREAT though. i doubt you can really go wrong with either.

I have never played a Martin that I like. Maybe it sounds better to the listener sitting further away and getting the full projected sound, but to my ears, they seem a little muddy/dark thus my preference for Taylor guitars.
