Hello, new member here.

Anyone play a Hofner acoustic ? I got a 1965 Hofner 450 archtop earlier this year and just can`t put it down. Have put my Washburn back in the case.

Just curious if there was any Hofner interest here. I`ll attempt to put a pic in here .....

How loud is that guitar compared to a more standard acoustic w/ a round soundhole?

Nice guitar...the fretboard may need some cleaning/oiling.

For an old archtop it`s got quite a bit of volume. As for the neck ... it`s the lighting & flash effect ... neck is clean as a bell , action is great. cool.gif

i have a 1962 congress. it's pretty good, the laquer on the neck is chipping off though, and theres a bit of wear on the fretboard. and i think the glue is separating on the neck, it's made of three pieces of wood. i will post photos later

I have a Hofner Verithin (1963 I think) any suggestions on where to find a guide to it's value as I'm thinking of selling it.

...sorry to invade you thread sad.gif
Life is like a musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Very popular and not as bad as some would have you believe. That is, unspeakably awful but mercifully brief.

I live in England so it's probably not that practical sales-wise.

Damn, there seem to be soooo many more Hofners available for sale in England instead of here.

European guitars.

The American imports were very expensive, relatively more so than now.

1962, it's got a truss rod and that treble clef design on the headstock is unique to it's year i think. pretty good looking guitar
