I have tried to find the nutshell solo from a live version, but I got stuck quite fast. I have a very good video of Jerry Cantrell playing his improvised solo on the spot, but I have a bad musical hearing to tab it out myself. I found out a big part, with the aid of an existing tab, but I had to correct some mistakes in that one as well.

I hope someone can help me make out the rest of this amazing solo.

Then there is the matter of Rain when I die. This is such a cool song with lots of feedback and whammy bar playing, some nice stuff with the wah as well. I have nothing on this song, unfortunatly.

very nice tab! I'll learn it tomorrow! I have a gig in 3 weeks where we play this song.

I shouldn't askl, but could you help out on Rain when I die? I only found 2 tabs for this one, and none include the cool intro with feedback, wah and whammy bar. most of the others have good tabs, but this killer song doesn't.

What can i say i was kind of inspired by your superhawk. I came across that thread and it turned out great! Might as well have a great tab to go with it Anyways i'm glad you like the tab, make sure you get video of when you perform it so i can check it out on youtube

As far as Rain When I Die goes I don't think i'll be able to tab that out. He basically just makes a bunch of sound effects with feedback, distortion, delay, and messes with the whammy bar a lot. The rest of the song seems pretty repetitive so if you have tabs of that you should be set. I suggest you watch as many live videos of them playing it on youtube. Even look at what other cover bands are doing. I'm guessing jerry had time to play around with it a lot in the studio so if you look at how they do it live you could get a better idea i guess. Good luck!

I don't know if you noticed, but I even have the lyrics of Nutshell on my guitar.
On our myspace (www.myspace.com/sanativelethe) you can watch a little vid of nutshell, without the end solo though. It was our second rehearsal. I'll try to get someone to videotape the performance on stage. otherwise I will definetly make a vid of myself with the guitar line.

I have checked a lot of vids of alice in chains playing it live, but I don't have the good hearing that I can recognize notes. I'll give it a try though, when I have a lot of time again Studying, working and having a band takes up a lot of time.
