Here's a link to Allison Krauss doing the James Taylor song - Carolina on My Mind.

What do you think about the slide guitar work?

That's Jerry Douglas playing dobro on that tune. He's a very very talented player. I like most everything of his that I've heard.

That Krauss gal has got it going on, and Mr. Douglas in her band to boot. I read an interview with Robert Plant somewhere about him and the Krauss gal recording some stuff together. Alison was telling Robert that she was too white to sing some of the blues stuff that he was wanting to record with her.

I'm interested in listening to the results. I listen to her, and can hear some very blusey sounds from her voice....in fact I can get lost in that little gals voice.

I heard about that about a month ago and am extremely excited to check it out once it's released. Should be amazing.

Besides being a member of AKUS, he also backs other artists, and has a solo career going. He can also be heard on the "O Brother" soundtrack, and seen on the documentary "Down from the Mountain".

I heard (well read) him say that he's made a living backing up excellent singers. It's very true, he's been on 1000+ albums. He really makes that Dobro sing as well.
