Those two brands should work pretty well. Just remember that organs will be extremely heavy, you'll need at least two people to move one.

Baldwin's and Hammonds are also good. For organs the best way to get one is to put the word out that you want one. They tend to be white elephant items, no one wants to keep 'em but they don't want to get rid of them either. (They likely paid around 5,000 to 10,000 in todays dollars for the instrument.)
As an aspiering organ owner you'll need to learn about organ circutry, soldering and trouble shooting. It also won't be a bad idea to pick up a digital multi meter and a cheap electronics tool kit.
You might also want to have a couply of beefy friends to help you move the hulking thing around.
Are you sure you just don't want to stack two 99$ keyboard on top of each other and select the organ preset? The sound won't be any different from a decent 60's organ.

Just an idea... Not an actual serving suggestion.

you could vst it mate. it would be cheaper to buy a laptop, a bit of software and a usb keyboard
personally id get 2 crap keyboards on preset, might not be the best option but you'll defo look and feel the coolist

My dad had a saying about organs-The only thing better than a Hammond B3 with a leslie, is Hammond B3 with 2 leslies. That's all I know about organs.

I've been here since 11/06/01 and I've never been a GTUer of the month. It's 08. I rock.

If you're really serious about picking up a hammond check out this guy:

They can get a tad expensive but he's got some really nice instruments
oh and fyi if you want a B3 but its just gonna sit in your house then I would suggest the C3 instead. it has the same circuitry but with an enclosed case instead of legs. Its a bear to move but it is much cheaper than the B3. Just something to think about.

I used to have a Lowrey with a Leslie, and that thing sounded sweet as. I regret selling it, but had to as there was no room for it where i was moving. You can still pick up a Lowrey fairly cheap even today. Try your local second hand stoores first, and any second hand music shops, or try ebay, though with something that size don't expect postage.
