I'm looking for a low action acoustic/electric in the 300-600 dollar range. What do you recommend?

You could go for the alternate model of the guitar that I just bought.

If you get the model with the cutaway, the electronics come standard. The pick-ups that they use, as well as the preamp they have to mess around with it, are very good for the price. It also has a solid spruce top to boot, and I do believe rosewood back/sides. It should put you somewhere around the $450 range if I remember correctly. I got the standard model with no cutaway, and that was listed at $440 from the company.

I've been quite satisfied with my Seagull with the cedar top, so much so, that I got me another Seagull...12 string with a spruce top.
Pick one up and play it before you decide. They make em up in Canada....eh.

IF your into fingerstyle or folk-rock I have to second the S-6. I've had mine for 2 years and it's become my main acoustic. The only sticking point is that the neck will feel a little odd at first. It's a sort of a wedgie thing going on to it. The Ceder deck is wayy responsive and more alive than most guitars... almost sparkly (But in a good way.)
Just an idea... Not an actual serving suggestion.
