I am performing with my band for a christmas concert in a large open ampitheater. Quite a large stage (about the size of 2 double garages). There will be other choirs, brass bands, etc. there.

Apparantly, there is no shelter over the stage, and it costs $6000 for one evening for the local council to put up a cover. What a load of ####.

This afternoon, we had a band practice under a car port. Quite humid and warm, then within a couple of minutes, the sky grew dark, the wind picket up, and it started hailing with thunder and lightning for about 10-15 minutes. This then cleared up, and it was sunny again. (wtf!?)

Anyway, a lot of cables got wet - I had to throw a blanket over my amp while I moved things inside to stop it getting wet from the spray, and we moved everything inside as soon as possible (no permanent damage, but a scary expierience).

What the hell do we do if this happends on the evening? Theres going to be PA set up and everything...

Use tarpaulin it's strong flexible and 100 % waterproof material... or as many meters of plastic sheet requiered to do the job. (While it's raining you can perform the 'rain chant' like they did at Woodstock laugh.gif)
