Hi...I'm pretty new on and looking for something small to start with. What do you guys have any advice about this amp:
Crate Amp
I found it pretty cheap and a decent wattage for practice, I can't find anything that cheap unless their little 10-15 watt amps.
Ok, thanks. Just any advice is cool.

My experience with Crate (and it's all guitar stuff as i'm new to bass myself) is there decent amps, just not of quality build. Your best bet is to check out some reviews for it on Harmony central and see what real people think about it. You should also see if you can find it in a local music store so you can hear what it sounds like before buying online. My advice to you would be search ebay for used amps there are plenty of them and much less then brand new. Good luck and let us know what you get.

Hey guys,
I'm just doing a follow up and for future referance if anyone else looks into this amp.
I bought the Crate BT50 and am very happy with it. It's got a nice thick sound, although, the distortion is not the best (I don't use it though). Also, the pedal the amp came with is really cheap, and I think it might be broke, but it's under a 1 year warranty so I'll get it fixed. As an practice amp though, I'm satisfied with it, and it even held up good against 1 guitar and a heavy drumming from my band when we practiced. So yeah, good for the money, especially if it's on sale, like I got it.

i have a BT220. i leave it at my drummers house and just use it for practicing. they're pretty good amps, not the greatest sound in the world, but be careful. i've had mine for 3 or 4 years now and i blew the speaker on it about 2 or 3 months ago without even crankin it past 7. and yeah, the distortion channel sucks, don't touch it, it'll just make your ears bleed.
