So i decided to start recording again after a long time of laziness.

Here's a GD cover with vocals, a few fills. Each track was recorded in one take so it kind of is what it is.

This was my first time adding compression to tracks and i think the levels are mostly out of whack. I used Cool Edit Pro and my shitty computer mic so the sound is definitely not the best.

Any feedback/criticism/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Beautiful. There is no better word. The vocals are great. I really like the overdubs and they are very well done. Your voice is really awesome and you sing very well. Really a piece of work, and this is coming from someone who is very familiar with the original.

I really enjoyed that. Vocals were really good. Good harmonizing. Good timing. The only thing that would have made it better was a better recording of the guitar(s).

I'm actually working on a Jack Straw cover.

yah you're right about the guitars ninjato. unfortunately out here at school i only have my crappy folk sized Norman while my dad's vintage Martin sits at home resting in its case sad.gif. the Norman is like the worst recording guitar. Although with a better mic i may be able to make it sound passable.

thanks for the comments ninjato. more Dead covers to come for sure.

Why do you chose tunes that are beyond your current ability rhytmically and vocally? Unbroken Chain is not an easy song. Maybe try West LA FadeAway or Minglewood blues first. Even a simple Franklins Tower or Me and My Uncle, I Know You Rider, Jack-A-Roe... Unbroken Chain is like trying to play Throwing Stones. It's rhythmically complex.
