this is reported in a news box out of marches' sound on sound, for those who dont read sos it apperently uses video to educate about mics and all things pertaining to mic, and it even looks like its free. i like my nt-1a and feel a loyalty from and trust to rode (so much so i even bought some event monitors) i like to think i wouldn't recommend something i thought was crap (but obviously shoddy-goods plc have yet to offer me shed loads of cash), but ive only just enroled and know nothing more than its a real site. enough waffle from me, go and have a look

Life is like a musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Very popular and not as bad as some would have you believe. That is, unspeakably awful but mercifully brief.

Just sat through the first one at Rode... erm... bit crap really.
Granted Blue and Rode are both selling their mics but at least Blue give you a bit more info beyond just product placement.
Blue ask more questions too - I got A+ at Rode for answering one dull question. Too much like the so-called Universities in Britain

ive just finished the course and this is of course an interactive advert to sell rode mics. but having said that ive just learnt a ###### load that ive not learnt before, you know interesting stuff like why you need the 3:1 rule, though i once read an article about a pop hit picker working for a record company who had his speakers 180degree out of phase (money on it thats an urban legend) and to be honest i dont think i really know what out of phase is in my listening environments. if youve an interest in recording instruments or vocals i would recommend this thing (of course just subsitute the mics rode 'sing', for mics in your price range/reach with the charictoristics you desire). personally this made me re-evaluate how i want to record my guitar (and why for me di'ing does't cut the mustard) and i only really watched it in the first place for vocal mic tips (yes i do plan on buying another rode mic after watching the course, the m3. i now see that combined with my existing rode nt-1a both my amp and vocals will benifit from both air and proximity, i could achieve this by buying an sm58 but im tall and like to take risks)
edit: ive just done the blue university b.a. course, and i can really recommend that too though its more how and why microphones work with less on placement (but it is still a very informative general site about accoustics)
