Stumbled across these pretty rare Sex Pistols recordings on YouTube:

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=--3IOWYwc7g (No Feelings Instrumental)
http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=W-dZx31g3Xw (Problems Demo)

They are from when Glen Matlock was in the band and therefore when they had a bass player rather than that bumbling idiot Vicious on bass. I'm sure you'll agree that it is a very different style to what generally people consider the Pistols to having, and the bass runs on there are rather fantastic. However having limited knowledge in musical theory, I am wondering how you would go about writing bass runs like these? They are just so funky..

Probably going to ask the guy if he has any more rare stuff like this.

Also if anyone is able to tab the bass lines for me I will be most grateful.

The bass on the first one (listening now) is so out in front, figuring it out should be pretty easy. He's not doing anything hard or unusual.

"I’m not a virtuoso guitar player. A virtuoso can play anything and I can’t. I can play only what I know, to the extent that I have developed enough manual dexterity to get the point across..." - Frank Zappa
