has anyone ever seen/played/heard of a fender zone bass? i've found a used one at my local music shop and my bassist and it are fascnated by it, it plays quite well, and sounds amazing... but is it any good?

what kind of fender zone is it? you've given us absolutely no info to go off of.

for example;

is it made in mexico (mim)? made in america (mia)? is it a deluxe? is it fretted or fretless? is it 4 or 5 or any other number of strings?

fenders are typically good instruments, although i'd steer away from the made in mexicos, as quality control isn't their strong point. i'm not saying made in mexicos are all terrible, some people absolutely love their mims, but just be careful.

it sounds to me like it's a good bass, if you two think it sounds good and plays well (you sort of answered your own question without realizing it =P ).

oh yeah... sorry i dont usually deal with stuff under 6 strings, im not the bassist here so all of my stuff gets finished when they build it with frets and all... tee hee.... im not sure where it was made, probably mim, but maybe not, 4 strings,and it's fretted (like proper instruments should be!) just polking fun kids

The fender zone bass is a good bass and for future refrence,
just about every bass that has fender writen on it is an awesome bass!
