Ok, so I have a nice signature all made up, in HTML format. Here's the code:
CODE
<img width=160 height=100 src="signature.gif">
<br>
<p><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>Neal McCullough</span>
<br>
<p><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>Design technician and CAD manager</span>
<br>
<span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#006C55'>Frances Studio Ltd.</span>
<br>
<span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#006C55'>Bolies,</span>
<br>
<span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#006C55'>Castlebellingham,</span>
<br>
<span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#006C55'>County Louth,</span>
<br>
<span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#006C55'>Ireland,</span>
<br>

<em><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>Phone +353 (0)42 937 2279</span></em></p>
<em><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>Mobile +353 (0)87 287 8538</span></em></p>

<em><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>neal@francesstudio.com</span></em></p>
<em><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:Georgia; color:#F95407'>www.francesstudio.com</span></em></p>

And here's the image I want to use at the top:

So when I view it in web form, it all looks nice and dandy. Now. Here's the problem. When I click on create message, the image won't show up in the signature of my email. I get a red x. The rest of the code will display normally. I have both the image and the HTML file in the same folder on my hard drive. So what the hell am I doing wrong?

If I remember correctly Outlook Express was partial to the directory where your HTML template is installed. That's the problem, one of path. I believe what you are looking for is the stationary folder for Outlook. Fiddle around in the Options screen.

One thing I do is use a absolute path to the embedded images, i.e. I keep them on a remote server so the IMG src = "http://whatever", makes the e-mail smaller since you don't have to attach files. This does get blocked by default by many e-mail applications unless you're on a "safe sender" list (because you could of course link to remote PHP scripts for full malevolence... erm, I mean statistics tracking happy.gif).

So yeah, importing your files into the Stationary ... module... thing.
"...and for 3 quarters of it, I had a lunatic trying to get up my arse."

Thanks a million, Igor. That worked a treat.

So what have we all learned from this little scenario? Well, basically, if you want a signature in your email, er.............don't go to the signatures tab.
