hello i just joined the forums. hope to learn a thing or two and maybe learn acoustic guitar (my dream) one day.

this is driving me nuts.
i cannot figure out what instrument this is.
ive heard it in music such as "vampire" music, catholic church style music with the organ etc, and the song i linked below.

http://www.imeem.com...ights_ii_theme/

im talking about the instrument that sounds kinda like a violin or some kind of piano. it comes out near the begining of the song. about 26 seconds into the song.

help me out! guitar.gif

edit:
found another example
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=GZNGEQF40es
the instrument starts at about 2 min 8 seconds in.

Sounds like it might be a clavier type instrument like a clavichord, although a harpsichord also sounds very similar. (Hard to hear in that tune.) Those are the instruments often used in... old horror movies, or like the intro music in the old original Addams Family TV show, etc. (I think it even shows Lurch playing one a few times in some episodes.) I believe the Rolling Stones also used one in... hmmm... the tune "Lady Jane." (I think they used a harpsichord.) (A musician named Jack.... (geeze, I'm getting senile...) ...Nitzche I think, played it on the original recording.)

Anyway, welcome to GTU.
