How's it goin?
This is my first post! I was wondering if I could get everyone's input on my article about something I call Prismtab. Check it out:

I would definitely like to hear everyone's opinions and ideas. Especially great guitarists! I'm loiking to make improvements so chip in your 2 cents.
Thanks,
Tom

Prismtab A new way to tab fret fingerings

The concept is a good one. I sometimes tab extremely complex fingerstyle tunes where chording in a certain way or beginning a passage in a certain way is very important in being able to execute the passage or what follows properly. What I usually do when it's necessary is put an "explanation line" under each tab-line. (I've done "authorized" tabs for publication a few times in the past.)
Anyway, a good concept. But like you mentioned, pretty tedious, especially for longer passages or entire tunes. (Of course so are explanatory lines.) Might be too much trouble for the "typical tabber" but would be great for tabs done for publication or some other tab work a little more advanced than the usual.
And welcome to GTU.

Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

Awesome! I agree...thanks for your input and thanks for the welcome. Is there anything that you would change to make it easier?

Off hand I would say no. (Well, maybe add a color for the thumb if you can find one!
It's not often used in many music-genres, but in some of the stuff I tab, and play, it's a necessity.)
The fingerings is the most important thing probably. Timing would be nice, but that's about impossible in tablature other than just the way the numbers are spaced. There's really not much getting around needing to listen to the actual tune in addition to having the tab (or even standard notation) to play it properly.

I did find a color for the thumb and it fits alphabetically. It called Zinnwaldite. Kind of a flesh tone. The verdict is still out. Here's a link with the color

The other option is to start with a color that comes before blue alphabetically and is unrelated visually to the others.
Let me know what you think.
