The signature size restrictions are frankly ridiculous

Case in point: I tried to add the following text
Never trust a cop in a raincoat. Beware of enthusiasm and of love, both are temporary and quick to sway. If asked if you care about the world's problems, look deep into the eyes of he who asks, he will never ask you again. Never give your real name. If ever asked to look at yourself, dont. Never do anything the person standing in front of you cannot understand. Never create anything, it will be misinterpreted, it will chain you and follow you for the rest of your life.
to my sig, with the current text and the lastfm box removed, so just the Dylan pic and the above text. Nope. Not having it. Sig too long.
Really?

How may times do I have to tell you? You don't have to wait to die
You can have it all, any time you want it. Yeah, my kingdom's all inside

I don't remember how many characters you get in a sig, but sometimes a shorter URL will help...although that already looks pretty damn short to me. You do better to make a picture with that text and put it in as a picture. *laugh*

make the text into a picture with the same backround as the gtu backround

unfortunately with the amount of members, its impossible to add a restiction on size without uploading the pictures to this server which would be a huge bandwidth hog, so the pictures are open, but obviously stupidly big ones will be removed...
as for the character limit... its more than adequate...
why oh why would you want that much text in your signature? its not a sig, its a flippin essay... and no1 needs an essay at the end of every one of your posts... nomatter how insightful it may be

That's not true at all. There was a size restriction on anything that went into the sig block a while back. Something messed up, though, and when Rob reverted the site, the sig restrictions got erased. There was a max pixel size and there was a max file size as well as the character max that's still there.
