ok ive just upgraded from a emu 0404usb to this edirol unit. the thing is, the latency is noticably greater. ive set it to 44.1hz and updated the drivers etc. im using the asio standard with a vista pc and ableton. any ideas peeps?

Indeed, lowering the buffer size will lower the latency, which you can see from the Preferences panel in Ableton, somewhere around 10 ms should be fine.

I've too noticed that E-MU cards have - for some reason - the lowest of latencies (2.66 ms anyone?) and easily accessible (you just click the latency time from the E-MU preferences dialog and you're set...), while the MOTU ultralite I use for my laptop (which is a 'superior' card according to most) needs quite the tweaking with buffers to get acceptable low latencies. Bah. Luckily you just do this once. smile.gif
