Been ages since I've been on here and stopped really after the tabs disappeared.

Glad to see the place is still going tho.

I've been reading through plenty but I'm a bit behind after a long abscence... anyway, how come your site doesn't carry tabs anymore when there are still plenty of others who are still going??

The thing that first attracted me to this site..or GTU as it was all those years back was that it was clean...no pop ups and ******, redirecting and the rest as there are on other sites..

I gather you have fought this as hard as you can but it seems a little odd.

How come those who have the power have stopped you and not the others??

sorry if theres a statement/explanation somewhere. I missed it.

anyway good luck. You must get the tabs back though. Some of em were mine (my interpretations, I add) and they were pretty fine and dont appear to be in internet land anymore sad.gif

Most of the other sites who still have tabs are "out of authorities reach" since they are not operated in America, whereas this site is and so the MPAA was able to try and force legal action upon Rob and the sites hosters. Ultimate Guitar is operated by American's however they claim to be hosted in Russia although I have heard otherwise and that they are using redirects, proxies and things like that to disguise their location.

cheers for the feedback fellas.

Still pishes me off tho. If I choose to, I can download any song or movie from the net. Stuff that hasn't even been released here in the UK.

Are all the lyric sites in US under the same scrutinization as the tab sites?

Also, if a band whether it be a well known one or anything else were to publicly release their lyrics would this place be under fire if they published??

This is flipping silly. Can guarantee a lot of the tabs on here have never been published anyway. How can that infringe copyright??

you/we have been ripped off for our opinions. I know I should have said this a few years back but I couldn't...

Hi Rodan,

It's good to hear from you and thanks for your post. It seems everyone feels the same way about this. huh.gif

There seem to be ways to get whatever you like off the Internet. Just not from places that are chosen to be attacked (and made to be examples for others).

My efforts are more for helping the guitarists learn and to share than to have the #1 website. And if some of the learning and sharing is not done by a website I run, then so be it. As long as it's available somewhere. ph34r.gif

So, in a way, I'm happy that they have been unsuccessful in attacking elsewhere on the Internet.

It would be nice though if other people running sites had similar policies of limited ads, especially intrusive ones. doh.gif

Cheers, cheers.gif

Cheers to you Rob.

Lets just hope those half-wits who have the power to take down sites like yours disappear soon.

Id like to get a flat screen for my daughters room. My question is this: How do I know what size is good? To give an idea of how big her room is: she has a twin bed with a trundle underneath...when thats pulled out and raised, about 50 of the space in her room is gone. I dont want a huge 40-something inch, but I also dont want her to have to sit right up on the TV to see it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
