Has anyone had the 3 red rings, and fixed it themselves using the xclamp replacement method? Ive literally just finished doing mine, and all is well - my lights are a lovely shade of green again.

Im just wondering..........how long is this fix likely to last in your experience?

Not long. My brother's 360 got the RRoD about 6 months ago. He did the fix you mentioned, and it lasted about a week. However, of course, that's just him. Nothing to say it won't last longer for you.

There is a 3 year warranty, as they extended it after people started complaining about it. Just send it to MS and they will fix it for you, I doubt the wait will be all that long compared to what it was when they brought out the extended warranty.

I'd send it in. When I sent mine in they sent me another one and included a power cord that I didn't need, so I sent that back. I guess they mistook my good intentions for something else because they soon sent me another xbox. So yeah, send it in.
