First time customer, brand new to reading tabs, and I don't seem to understand what's going on in the following tab (I didn't write it; it's from a search).
Anyhow, I guess I don't understand what a musical "Bar" is, and don't know how to play this, so questions:
- What is a musical bar?
- Am I correct in understanding that there's one bar per vertical line?
- Are there only 4 notes in the 1st bar? (When I listen to this song, the open D is played twice, but the tab indicates only one strike. When listening to the song, I count 7 notes, but I don't see it in the tab. And I have no idea why the 2nd fret of the G is indicated, cause I don't hear that note in the song.)
- Are all of these notes (in each separate vertical line) somehow supposed to cover the entire intro?
Obviously, I don't know enough about what I learned from the absolute basics, so any help would be appreciated, and I apologize for the novice questions, but I gots to learn this song.
Tab below.
Thanks for your help,
Terry
