Noticed theres a couple of topics about learning to play the piano on here at the mo, and since im trying to do just that at the moment, I thought i'd geg you in on the idiots way of doing it!

Theres a program called Synthesia which is almost like a Piano Hero type of thing. Notes roll down the screen, and it shows you what you should be playing on the keyboard at the same time. It makes more sense if you watch this : http://www.youtube.c...h?v=leVA8EadTQY

I chose an easy one to give you the gist - obviously there are mad crazy tunes to do too. And theyre virtually unlimited because all you have to do is download free midi files and open them in synthesia - easy sleazy.

Obviously (before you all start!), this isnt going to teach you theory. It isnt going to teach you chords - you'll have to look elsewhere for that. But to get going, and to get a rudimentary understanding of piano/keyboard, this is brilliant. Im already playing Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness by the pumpkins after a week, and im loving it.
