Bit obvious, but have you checked the battery?

Mine is doing the same thing. I had it on a board in a chain, I removed it from the chain, nothing, disconnected the power supply, connected one using a 9v battery adapter, it works. I pulled the board, checked the solders for the power plug, re-fluxed them just in case, nothing. Now I am looking for the answer myself. If I find anything that can help you, I will post it. Sub-note: Mine is not modified at all.

Do you have a digital multimeter? Check it with that. If you post voltages, I can compare.

I would need details. I have a meter, don't know where you would need the voltage readings from. If you ca tell me more, I will be glad to post all info. I am hoping to fix it and not have to buy a new one.

Start where the red wire of the battery clip mets the board. Make sure you are getting ~9v there. Next, check the diode. One end will go to ground so it should measure 0v. The other end should have a reading. Next, measure each leg of the transistors.
