Has anyone ever given these a go? I've heard very mixed reviews, most saying they're great. (Averaged 4.5/5 stars on Musician's Friend.) Yet some reviews said they're not all that great when it comes to single-coil. Here are some links

Just wondering if anyone had any views or opinions.

I've heard and read some good things about the amp. Nothing about single coils sounding not so great. Maybe you just need to tweak the EQ a bit more with this amp. The only things that I've heard bad about the amp are some reliability issues. But if I had to guess, I'd say that percentage is about the average failure of electronic equipment. Seems like a good buy, 30W and 15W in one decent sounding amp is pretty good. Upgrade the tubes and speaker and you'll have a good amp.

A buddy of mine owns this amp and I can attest to one thing- It is extremely heavy (75 lbs). If you are willing to lug this thing to shows then maybe it is worth it. I found a bunch of reviews saying the tone of this amp makes it worth the weight though
