what 8 track have you bought?

if the problem is the number of mic inputs you could use an external mixer and record your selfs all playing together then use the remaining six tracks for over dubs, drums etc

depends on what mixer you have, but most mixers have a pair of white & red rca phono recording outs - just get some phono to trs leads into the 8 tracks inputs and hey presto. though tbh, thats not the way i did it when i tried a fully hardware set up, i didnt have a powerd mixer (i have active speakers instead) so i simply ran the main L & R audio outs straight into the 2 inputs on my eight track then ran my speakers from that - as long as you can record 2 tracks at the same time either way should work. i admit its a pain in the arse of a workaround but if youve got all the bits anyway.....
