Looking at getting either a bass wah or fuzz pedal for my brother for Christmas, price isn't a huge issue, though I would prefer to spend less then 250 dollars, gonna order from Music123 if they have something I can get. I am thinking for bass fuzz the MXR M182 El Grande Bass Fuzz and the wah a Morley PBA-2 Dual Bass Wah, anyone who has any experience with either of these pedals input would be helpful. Any suggestions would be helpful too.

I am thinking for bass fuzz the MXR M182 El Grande Bass Fuzz and the wah a Morley PBA-2 Dual Bass Wah.

Personaly I like the Morley but a lot of people complain about how it switches. The pedal is spring loaded so it is always up when your foot is not on it. When you step on the pedal and start wahing it switches on. There is a tiny delay for it to switch on and that drives some people nuts. The other issue is you can't set the pedal in a position you like and walk away, you have to hold your foot in that position until you are through wahing so it makes some wah techniques almost impossible. Again, these are not issues for me because I also own a Dunlop.

The Dunlop Crybaby 105Q bass wah pedal has a heel switch so switching is instant and you can find a filter position that suits you and walk away from the pedal; no spring to pop it back. The thing I like better on the Morley is it has more foot sweep than the Dunlop. But that is why I have both pedals.

But the one I wish I had is the EBS WahOne bass wah pedal. This pedal sounds better than either the Morley or the Dunlop and has more controls for versatility. It is a quality piece.

Yeah, bass wah pedals around here are hard to find and most of them are extremely expensive. I wound up getting an Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi for 80 bucks and it looks like a slightly older model but was in great shape either way. The nice thing was I got to test it before buying it and I really liked the sounds it produced with dual coil bass pickups (playing some sort of old Epiphone bass) as my brother has a 2008 Erine Ball Musicman bass with a double coil giant pickup at the bridge so I wanted to try and emulate as much of that pickup style experience as possible even with a cheap bass, funny they even had a 60 watt version of the Fender Bassman 100 amp that my brother has.
