i have a 2002 yamaha 4 string bass guitar. i played it for about 2 years then got an acoustic. im trying to sell it and i want to know how much i should sell it for so i dont get ripped off. im not sure the model but ill get back as soon as i find out.
the price you get for it is completely dependent(sp?) on the model. yamaha has a pretty big range of basses.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

i would say you should put it up for around 165 no more than like 190 and dont accept less than 130. if you get 165 for it thats a good deal.
but depending on the condition you may get more or less for it
EDIT. if its a RBX170 you may be able to get around 180 for it. if its on ebay you're gonna get less than a local listing because of shipping cost.

Rule of thumb when selling used instruments back to stores. This is considering the instrument is in good shape.....no dings or huge scratches, clean...etc
You will get 50% of 50% of the full price of the item.
So if your instrument is brand new and costs $2000, the best you are going to get is $500. 50% of $2000 = $1000
1/2 of $1000 = $500.
It totally sucks selling non-USA made used instruments....you generally lose your shirt in the deal and walk out w/ a really bad taste.

here is an RBX 170
Not much....
http://bass-guitars....Bass?sku=511081
$180 is the price for a NEW RBX170. I'd give you $50......that's $5 more than a shop will give you for it.
