what string guage do you all like to play with??
i'm getting tired of 013, 056...it could also be my crappy guitar but it sounds too flat. not to mention those bar chords aren't real fun to switch back and forth to.

If it sounds flat it could be the guitar but just as likely the type of strings (not so much the gauge). While harder to fret and play with, heavier gauge strings are usually louder and sustain better. If you want to add some "brightness" to your sound, try D'Aquisto strings. They are the brightest acoustic string I have ever heard.

You can brighten up your tone with bronze phospher strings.
Also swapping out your plastic bone with a bone bone, will put more oomph from the strings to the sound board and give you a louder and usually brighter tone.

If you're using .13-56's at full tension, try down tuning to D It'll make chording a heck of alot easier.

Just an idea... Not an actual serving suggestion.

It's a matter of prefernence. Right now I'm using 10's and 11's.
