in my opinion, any song can be redone on the classical guitar and give it a different sound. the only thing you'd have to do differently is (here again, my opinion) arpeggiate the chords, as opposed to strum them. for example, the acoustic version of "hotel california" was redone very well on classical guitars. hope this helps.......dj

IMO it's very hard to play the Lead parts of rock songs on a classical cause you're gonna find it hard to reach anything above 13. Nothing else matters sounds very good on classical.

as said before most rock songs can be changed into a classical guitar piece, if wanted to

im holding my classical right now, although i dont play it as a classical i play it as a normal rock acoustic guitar

if you want to give it a classical sound, dont be scared to change anything on the song, as long as it keeps the same basic parts to it and sounds familar its ok

for example most pop rock songs have major and minor chords

lets take this chord progression
Cx4 Dx4 Emx4 Dx4
predictable by delta goodrem hehe

ok arpieatte (sp) it and change the chords to say

Cadd9x4 Dsus2x4 Em7x4 Dsus4x2 Dx2

see how it can be changed

that was just a rough example off the top of my head

LP addict is right. Most people buy classicals not to play classical music, but to have an acoustic. You can play almost anything, but remember you won't get such broad bends and vibrato here. But the sound is really selective and it's perfect for emotional techniques. Even with a metal string acoustic you don't have so much attack control.

Sure there've been many rock tunes, like:

Spanish Caravan by the Doors
Private Investigation - Dire Straits
Quite a few Sting songs.
"Grzeg (...) spending years in the Vistula River Delta picking Miss Takamine with a bottle-neck on his finger!)" - Dadfad

New track - Mister Sandman

Most Beatles songs sound good on a classical guitar; especially And I love Her and Michelle....Light my Fire by the Doors....House Of The Rising Sun by the Animals and everything by Simon And Garfunkle
