Originals i guess are tougher since you have to make it appealing to the ear, and most "new" songs heard arent usually very catchy to the ear. But solos and licks like that over rhythm would probably make her melt. Back in high school i had a buddy of mine who would always play these amazing solo pieces when we'd fool around, and the girls would be like, "wow, he can really get a girlfriend right now" as he was playing.
Goodluck though, let us know how it goes. (for future reference and ideas hahaha)

an acoustic classical guitar version of crawling by linkin park. i reckon that would sound pretty neat.its hard to scream the chorus so just sing the chorus part different from how they sing it
the chords are easy from what i remember
verses are C#m A E B
pre chorus is A B C#m
chorus is C#m A E B
i think that is the whole song, so play an arpeiggo type acoustic version of it, she will love it, you cant play all the songs u like coz she wont think its for her

and i don't want to discourage you--just to maybe open your eyes on this subject.
and i speak from experience.
20 covers wouldn't add up to 1 original...you record 1 really good original acoustic song (with vocals of course) and she'll listen to it 100 times more then those 20 cover songs. because its something you created.
but maybe this deal changes with age. i'm 23...but when i was 18...my g/f 17..she actually teared up when i sang/played her an acoustic cover. i wont tell you which one...i have my reasons.

yer true i know this is my 800th post in this one topic, but play originals, with covers she will sing along but if its not great she will get bored of it and put on the real version, with originals she cant go to the CD store and put that CD on she has to listen to ur voice
the GTUers that ive called on the phone and played to over the phone loved it when i played an original so yerrrrrrrrrr
still play covers but make sure there is at least some originals on it
