Features: Black, cast iron housing, on/off button at the tip of the pedal, runs on 9V battery or appropriate adapter.

Construction: This pedal is built like a sh*thouse. Cast iron chassis and pedal with heavy duty rubber padding and metal plate to get into the insides of the pedal. This pedal can take a beating.

Sound: Very classic wah type sound, which is good considering it's based of the original line of Cry Baby wah pedals. Very basic wah, but with that legendary sound Jim Dunlop has been famous for.

Ease of Use: Fairly easy to use. Have to push kinda hard to get the pedal to turn on and off. Also, getting to the inside of the pedal is a pain because you have to remove 4 screws which double as feet. But it's rare you need to get in there unless you use this pedal a lot and need to change the battery often.

Reliability: I've had this pedal for 5 years and it has served me well. I have gigged professionally with it and it has yet to let me down.

Overall: This is a very good basic starter wah pedal for any guitarist. It has fancier cousins, but the best asset about this pedal is that it does its job and does it well. You can beat it up or let it get dusty. Either way it's still going to kick out a rich wah sound. I'd repurchase this model if I this one were to ever die.

How much did you purchase this item for? $40
Where did you purchase this item? Music Go Round Greensboro, NC
Is this item new or used? Used

Features: Basic wah, rock it back and forth for the wah effect, and stomp on it to turn it on and off.

Construction: Black metal casing, 4 rubber feet, and thats about it.

Sound: Its the classic wah sound, but mine is modded a little so it has a smaller sweep range and a true bypass because the factory bypass on this thing really sucks.

Ease of Use: Its like any other wah, its not particulary easy to use until you start to get teh hang of it, like a whole different instrument. Theres nothing worse than someone who cant use a wah correctly overusing hte effect.

Reliability: Its definately reliable, Crybabys are built like tanks, this one has fallen down a flight of stairs, out of an open window, and I regularly stomp the hell out of it to get it to turn on and off.

Overall: Its worth the money I paid for it, didnt really exceed any expectations or anything. Theres definately better wah's out there, but for these, you get what you pay for.

How much did you purchase this item for?$130 AUS
Where did you purchase this item?Billy Hyde Music AUS
Is this item new or used? new

Features: Basic but classic wah sound, Just a simple wah pedal, not much to say that others havnt said

Construction: Black strong as hell metal, again nothing more to say

Sound: great basic sound, i give it a 9/10 for sound, for one of my first pedals i think it has the best sound that ive got, definatly not the best out there but very good, good enough for recording and gigs

Ease of Use: the turn off and on button is a dog really needs a stomp but thats allright coz the beast can handle the stomp, easy to use apart from that basic rocking back and forth for the wah sound

Reliability: hella good, strong as hell, its a beast

Overall: great strength great sound overall great

Features: Big old rocker to change tone. On/Off clicker at the end of the push. Runs of 9V battery, which lasts around 2 months of fair use, or adapter.

Construction: Chunky and bombproof. The looks are sleek and cool, but not flashy. Rubber rocker stops foot slippage, while the rubber feet stop floor slippage.

Sound: Simple yet classic bass to treble effect. Does good funk.

Ease of Use: Any beginner could use this, it is very easy. One common niggle that I'd agree with is the tricky On/Off switch, which needs a hefty stomp to activate, especially when sitting down.

Reliability: Sturdy as you like, this will probably never break. The batterys last an impressive amount of time too, but the adapter option is good for back-up when gigging.

Overall: Sounds awesome playing any genre, very easy to use, and built to last until the time when wah-wahs are replaced with big mind-reading automatic sound robots.

How much did you purchase this item for? $33 USD (7$ shipping)
Where did you purchase this item? I purchased one used off ebay
Is this item new or used? I bought it used but in good condition

Features: Black iron body, black rubber feet and padding on top, Crybaby label on front

Construction: Definitely strong. Metal body, rubber feet, rubber pad on top which was hardly worn or scratched at all when I bought it.

Sound: The sound you would expect from your wah. Good responce, decent range, doesn't drain volume or gain, and it still gives a good wah sound even with high gain. Worthy of professional use.

Ease of Use: Very easy to use. Rock your foot back and forth to wah. You do kind of have to push down hard to turn it on and off, but the good side of this is that your les likely to accidentally turn it off while wah-ing rather hard. It can be a hassle to remove the feet, but it's rarely needed unless you leave something plugged into the input for hours at a time.

Reliability: I've never had a single problem with this pedal ever since I've gotten it. The only thing I've needed to do is change the battery after I got it. It doesn't drain betteries too bad either. I've had the same one in since I got it nearly 9 or 10 months ago.

Overall: This is a great wah pedal. It's of good quality, dependable, and affordable. A beginning guitarist or a professional guitarist could both use it. If I had the resources and the need I would probably get one of its fancier cousins (such as the 535Q or the Classic) but the one I have works fine. I got a pretty good deal for it too, I think.

Features: Rocking/seesaw like control pedal that alters the bass and treble tone to produce a "wahwah" sound.

Construction: Sturdy as hell. This thing can get kicked around and thrown about and it's still likely to work. Solid iron with rubber grip feet. Very simple yet effective design.

Sound: It's the classic wah. It's the wah that all other wahwah peddals are compared to, pretty much. You could do considerably worse.

Ease of Use: Thos only problem is that it can take a fair bit of pressure on the front to turn it on or off, but that is balanced by the fact you're not likely to turn it off when in use. You can't get much easier than just rocking your foot back and forth.

Reliability: If the batteries old you might lose volume, but then that's your own fault for having a dead battery and can be fixed by using a power lead. Other than that it's not likely to break or develop a fault.

Overall: An excellent pedal. Well built, well designed, good sound.

I know. However, you can help people on this forum by writing about what those tones were and what kinds the unit had, to advise in their own purchases.

Ok, With Distortion The Wah Wah Lack's Ability To Reach Treble And The Wah Becomes Enravlled In Crakles, But When Played Clean, The Tones Are Amazing

OK chaps, no need to keep quoting the entire post for one sentence replies. alexparker, it would be great if you could write up a proper review of the pedal using the template. A negative review is just as valid as a positive review. However, we're looking for straight reviews rather that chit-chat in Gear Reviews. The review you wrote is probably as useful as a chocolate saucepan, so how about a bit more detail ok? Thanks smile.gif

I won't bother inserting features / construction, as it's been dealt with before.

How much did you purchase this item for? £59.99

Sound: Very nice tone; perhaps a little bit top heavy on the treble, but nice nevertheless

Ease of Use: Simple; my one objection is that as opposed to having a switch to turn wah on/off, you have to move through the treble register to press it down, but still smile.gif

Reliability: No problems isofar

Overall: An excellent buy for a small sum of money; it's an essential in my rig.

Having upgraded to a Jim Dunlop 535Q, it's nice to see I still use this wah for some jazz and funk. Good staying power, but if you're looking for a more versitile wah, the 535Q is a great choice
