Hello. Recently i have noticed even more than normal that some of my strings buzz when i play them. When i pluck the strings, i can hear this rattlesnake like sound, especially on the G 4th string. I have an acoustic Ibanez, a pretty good one. I also have D' Addario strings on. It seems that the noise is coming from the headstock. I know very little about fixing guitars. I just love to play em'. Please help me. Thanks.
Joel

See if your truss-rod cover is loose. Also check the bushings around your string-pegs to see if one is loose. Do you have loose string ends that could be vibrating against the head-stock? Take a roll of masking tape and tape things that seem like they might be loose until you find the right place. I only named things to look for on that end of the guitar (there are others on the big-end too).
Un-plugged is not the same as

If they rattle when played open, it'll probably be the tuning machines. They can be oiled once in a while, try lubricating before changing them. If you have tha truss rod adjustment on the headstock, it can be unscrewed coverlid. Another possibility is the nut, in this case you might change it.
So see if the truss rod adjustment cover is screwed, pluck the buzzing strings, muting them behind the nut to exclude or confirm the rattling machines fault.
