or....you can opt by punching a cow in their gut, which will make a low E sound, and you can tune from that.

can it correctly tune drop d? lately ive been having trouble with that...I dont know why

If you can't find a tuner, there are still some other possibilities. You can get the low e from the Nothing Else Matters intro. Yep, tune the low string to the CD.
The last possibility is ti pick up a phone receiver. Everywhere in the world, in Europe, America, Asia, and here in Poland, you'll here the F sound as a signal. Thet's your D4 sting 3rd fret.
The rest is simple.
Compare the low E6 5th fret to empty A5. A5 5th fret - empty D4. D4 5th fret - empty G3, G3 4th fret - empty B2, B2 5th fret, empty E1.

You can do open tunings, Open G tunings, Open D Tunings, there's like 40 diff. tunings for it, and of course, the regular Standard E Tuning. There ya, everyone check it out, pretty nifty program and I use it a lot at home.
