Im trying to figure out whether to put a bone bridge on my taylor and was just wondering about your guys thoughts as to how it affects the guitar.

Maybe very slightly. If I needed to replace the saddle on it I'd use bone, if I didn't I wouldn't bother. And then only because Taylor's an upper-end guitar and it could possibly make a slight difference. Modern man-made material (not cheap plastic.... micarta, TusQ man-made ivory, etc) is pretty good nowadays. I only use bone or fossilized ivory on my better guitars when a nut or saddle needs to be replaced, and then primarily because that's what the original part was made of.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

I like the old ivory, very old ivory. You can't get modern ivory for obvious reasons and bone is a great replacement but modern materials are quite good. As Dadfad says if it ain't broke don't fix it.
