How much did you purchase this item for?
$1000 american
Where did you purchase this item?
Local Music store
Is this item new or used?
New

Features:
2 humbuckers, mahogany body, maple cap, 2 tone 2 volume controls.
Construction:
Good construction. This guitar was put together very solid and it is very sturdy. Its also very heavy, probably the heaviest les paul I've played. The only problem I faced with this gutiar is the factory setup. Its easy to say that the setup wasnt up to par with my image of Gibson quality. The action was too low, and the guitar wouldnt sustain very well when I got it. Also the intonation was off on the G, D and A strings. A little adjustment fixed all these real quick, but still, when I pay a grand for a guitar, I expect all this done already.
Sound:
A very simple Les Paul sound. I really don't like the stock pickups but they deliver a pretty decent tone. The heavy mahogony body gives the guitar a really deep woody tone. In a few month's I'll be changing hte humbuckers to Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers. The stock pickups arent bad, thier just a little muddy for my taste. If you like higher output pickups, these should be fine however.
Ease of Use:
It took a while for me to get used to the dual tone and volume knobs but once I started using it more and more, it became easier.
Reliability:
Its a Gibson, it feels solid, however, I had been getting a scatchy pot on the bridge. But Ive replaced it.
Overall:
Overall, its a good guitar, however, mine came with its share of problems. Still its worth what I payed for it (came with a $40 gutiar strap, 2 packs of strings, hardshell case and a cable all thrown in by the store). The guitar sounds and feels solid. For teh gutiar alone Id give it a 9/10. But for the reputation Gibson has, I expected more from their quality control.

How much did you purchase this item for?
marked $950...bought for $800
Where did you purchase this item?
local guitar shop *Marks Guitar Shop*
Is this item new or used?
used (1987 les paul studio)

Features:
Black body with cream trim, 2tone knobs and 2volume knobs, 2humbucker pickups
black fretboard.
Construction:
Awesome. A lot of times when buying a used LesPaul you come across headstocks that have been split or actually knocked off. (you drop a les paul on its back, the headstock is angled down, it hits first, and cracks, etc) this one was perfect, its VERY solid, very heavy, everything is sturdy and in place. This guitar was built 15years ago and i dont understand how anyone could say it wasnt new.
Sound:
wow. the stock pickups are awesome. Such great clean tone, many people complain about lp's being very bassy, but even on rhymth pickup its beautiful sound. and the pickups are almost undescribable with a little distortion. especially on the treble pickup, when you get that bite for blues licks and stuff, awesome.
Ease of Use:
i love the fretboard. ive played on a lot of guitars and i think this one is one of the fastest and smoothest ive ever played. Its a very easy guitar to use, dont have to get used to any weird positions with it resting on you, simple 3setting pickup switch, i dont mess around with the 4knobs much, i just crank em
Reliability:
i havent had one problem yet, it stays in tune perfectly, not one problem i can think of.
Overall: lots of people always cliche gibson as the best brand out there. But half of the people dont even play gibsons, so what in the heck do they know? i do. 10/10

How much did you purchase this item for? $659 US
Where did you purchase this item? From a local guitar shop
Is this item new or used? Used

Features:
Wine Red Finish
2 Humbuckers
2 Tone 2 Volume Controls
Construction:
I got this guitar cheap because it had cracked open. I didn't even know about it until I displayed a strong intrest in it and the clerk decided to tell me. There is a very faint white line going down the back but you can only see it in good light. Still, I was hesitant about buying it, so I got many friends who have experience with these sort of things to see if it was a good buy. Everybody said that the repair job was absolutley stunnings and the price was a steal, so I grabbed it. The action is hella low. It is hard to get pinch harmonics, especially on the lower strings. I had it setup and used lighter strings (They were 11s now they are 9.5s) and now it's not a problem
Sound:
Awesome. I can hear every note in a chord even with borderline illegal amounts of fuzz. Sustain was good, and even better after I had it set up. The middle pickup selection creates excellent sounds for clean funk. The bridge is great for rock leads and heavy riffage, cutting through and bright, but amazingly... still nice and warm! The neck pickup is good for a deep warm bassy sound, especially when you are in a surfer groove and the reverb is pumped up all the way on your amp and you feel like slightly palm-muting the bottom strings.
Ease of Use:
I couldn't stand how low the action was when I got it. So I got it set up. Simple as that.
Reliability:
Even though there were a few problems at first, once I got them fixed, I have no more complaints.
Overall:
A very good buy! I wouldn't have accepted the quality had it been, say, 200 more, but for what I got it for it is amazing. Not the best guitar I have owned, that title will most always stay with my 52' Telecaster, but it makes my guitar fambly complete. I proudly say that it suits me more than any of my friends' standard Pauls.

Where did you purchase this item? www.gak.co.uk

Features:
Wine red finish, chrome hardware. 2 tone knobs and 2 volume knobs (black), 2 humbucker pickups
Rosewood fretboard, 22 frets

Construction:
Excellent. Strong and sturdy, but lighter than the Standard model

Sound:
Excellent. A nice difference between the deep warm rhythm and the crisper treble; excellent overdriven and beautiful clean. Good for a wide variety of music; jazz and rock for me predominantely, and it sounds great

Ease of Use:

Having played an Epiphone les paul, I vaguely knew what to expect, but it's a simple design for anyone

Reliability:

Very good isofar

Overall:

Well worth the money. Personally I played the Standard, and found it a little bit cumbersome, poorer sound, and it just didn't feel right./ At over five hundred pounds cheaper was, to me, a far better buy

Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus

How much did you purchase this item for? 500 Dinars...which is $1,499
Where did you purchase this item? www.music123.com
Is this item new or used? New

Features:
Desert Burst finish, chrome hardware. 2 tone knobs and 2 volume knobs (black), 2 humbucker pickups
Rosewood fretboard, 22 frets

Construction:
Excellent. I hard word from people, saying that the model was very heavy...but this was really light!

Sound: I had my worries when I FIRST played it, because there was no tone, and wamrth with the model. However, I realised there was a problem with my amp, so I played it again...and WOW, it came out exactly how I wanted it to play. Since I mainly focus on Rock, and Jazz, this guitar had the ideal sound for me. It will take somtime to get used to the knobs, however.

Ease of Use: I played A Smartwood LP in Singapore once, and it turned out to be very heavy, and unconfortable when playing, however this was a different matter, extremely easy to use.

Reliability: I've only had this for about a day, but I see that this model is definately a keeper, in the near future.

Overall: I also played a Standard in Singapore, and I must say, that this guitar felt the same way as the Standard...and it really made me happy. This was definately a great buy. Been thrown in a hardshell case with it all, there isn't really any fault with this Studio.
