On a side note; I was taught on acoustic guitar and still play the acoustic to the present day. Never wanted or needed an electric guitar.

Superwinkie Theme Song -- a la brokenmirror

We have no great war, no great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives.

Guitar, when I was a pup folks like Elvis, Rick Nelson, Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddly.....you get the picture, they all played, or at least I thought they could play, and they were cool.
Even the folks on the Grand Ole Oprey who I listened to and didn't think were cool played guitar.
Ever notice how the girls reacted to those cool guitar players......those boys got more nookie that ya could shake a stick...so to speak....at.
Then all those good bands in the 60's and 70's were guitar driven.....cept Chicago, and I never thought they were worth a crap anyway.
Well I could go on and on, but to make a long story short, I'm a pretty quick study. I decided guitar was just the ticket for me way back when Elvis was shakin his ass and gettin gals like nobody's business.
Funny thing though, it's just not workin like that for me. I think I might be a better player than ole Elvis was. I'm startin to think maybe looks and the ability to sing might have somethin to do with it all.

My father taught me the C chord, and the G Chord, and from there, i just searched for songs ONLY or Mostly with C and G Chords. I'd just skip all the other chords and just find the section of the song where It had C or G and sing a long with it. Finally I got tired of skipping chords, so I then was determined to learn the chords I was skipping. After teaching myself chords for a while..about 6months or so, I began playing for church along with my mother's friends husband. That helped me learn some theory. Then I found a friend who played, and he taught me some songs and my guitar playing ability really took off from there.
I wish I could of videotaped my first times playing the guitar, because, it's so hard to imagine yourself trying to play a C chord and trying to play it by putting your fingers on top of the fret bar and asking someone if that was right...haha ohhh..the good ol days.

since then i've always been in a band, playing rhythm but never sticked to one band, never played to ged laid or get paid or get famous, JUST PLAYED FOR THE HELL OF IT!!!.
Now i stick to acoustic guitars its been a long time since i've held an electric, coz i already sold mine.
i never really got that good but theres nothing more relaxing than the sound of the guitar you play.

I play for myself mostly, just for the enjoyment of it..never really played in front of anyone actually...I don't practice near as much as anyone should, I go through spurst where I'll play hard for months then just get away from it for a month or two...been playing alot lately though..might actually perform at a local bar on an open mic night, dunno..still haven't worked up the courage..lol..at least considering it makes me play more..

i had an old guitar that had been passed down to me long ago and my uncle had atempted to teach me to go from a G to a C and back again but i had never stuck with it
untill now when i FELT the music
i got a lesson from my uncle and then jsut continued from there
i think the reason i stuck with it the second time was because my reason for wanting to learn was different
and the stuff i learnt was different
it was about the music, not about simply learning a skill
then a year later for my 18th birthday my uncle bought me a washburn and its been my pride and joy ever since.
