Well, she looks young! I'm downloading "steamed juicy little bun" (because that was the coolest sounding title), with my modem it will take a while, I'll get back to you.

Good night! That song is incredible! This girl is incredible! That song is incredible! My fav part is between :30 and 1:30, it doesn't flow at all, but at the same time, it flows like a charm. Man I'd recommend this girl for everyone to download!

Uhm, right now I'm listening to the intro of Carmine St. that's already cool in itself. Since when can chicks play guitar ? tongue.gif

It sounds like she's playing a sequenced synth line or something in between the leads, damn this is COOL STUFF!

Thanks for pointing her out to the guitar community laugh.gif

As for "steamed juicy little bun," my friend Michael and I sat around for about an hour last night just talking about it, we'd analize different parts of it, you know, it was pretty cool, especially since he doesn't play any instruments.

Good times.

And i've just made another discovery, every bit as good as kaki king...! Search kazaa for michael hedges, he's bloody brillient! Try to get "All along the watchtower", it's an acoustic track of it in an alt. tuning, wonderful stuff. If you cant get it on kazaa, i'll send it on MSN but it might be a bit slow that way.

Did you just discover Michael Hedges. He's one of my favorite guitarists of like, ever. His song "11 small roaches" is one of my favorites. Too bad he died.

If you like his stuff you might also want to listen to some stuff by Pierre Bensusan.

I thouhgt I'd bump this seeing as I went to see Kaki play last night.

And oh my goodness, she was outstanding. She's an amazing player, a good lookin' lady, and fun to watch. I'm hoping she comes and plays somewhere nearby where I live again.

She really is one of THE most amazing guitarists i've ever seen. Pity that i'm living in Ireland, making seeing her virtually impossible.

Kaki King reminds me a bit too much of Hedges at times, and at the same time, it's totally different. I know more 'bout Hedges than I do about King, however.

She has some nice stuff, that I've recently heard (thanks, Cian wink.gif . I'm not familiar with her tunings, but often percussive guitarists like that will use tunings that are like partial opens... where they can hammer several strings and then slap and have full chords of the progression sound in several places on the neck. I'm a little familiar with Preston Reed's stuff, which is similar. Some of the tunings he used were CGDGGD, CGDGBE and CGDGAD (for his tunes"Tribes", "Slap Funk" and "Border Town", repectively). You can see where hammering a few strings in different places (combined with opens) could give you any of those (and other) chords. This kind of stuff is pretty impressive to audiences, the down-side being that you need your guitar and amplification set up specifically for these styles. It's not a down-side if that's totally what you're into, but is if you like to do other less experimental stuff in your set. Yeah, Kaki King has some nice tunes. "Steamed Juicy Little Bun" is probably my favorite.

(Or maybe "Kewpie Pie".....)

King is unbalivable. I like it . Also I droped in no Andy McKee and I find him more refined and flowing than Kaki King. McKee sounds like an othere guy I herd in the 70s called Dan Rass. He hand woned a finger picking compatition and first place was a recording. If you cand find his stuff its good.

Like I mentioned, Preston Reed is into similar stuff too. You can hear a sample....
