Just wondering what everyones thoughts were on Guild Acoustics. Older ones (90's models) verses the ones that Fender now makes. Also generally speaking what you guys think of guild. I got a D-series that was made in 95, Before fender bought the company. My girlfriend bought it for me like 4 years ago from a music store. The Guy said new it was a $1500 guitar, I think she paid about $700. I really cant find any Guild dealers in my area to compare prices, does this seem reasonable. I know it is hard to tell without seeing it.

I have a 1971 Guild D-40. Not my favorite, but it's a pretty nice guitar. Very rich sounding. Warm but not mushy. I've played a couple of newer ones. I think they're decent guitars, better than Fender acoustics, but not quite as good as the older ones.

The 12-strings sound very nice on stage. I haven't played one, but I've gone to a show where one of the guitarists played one on a few songs. It was classy.
