I was routinely changing my strings on my epi accoustic..and when out of the blue.....the peg that holds the string in the hole..snapped!!!! If that wasnt enough when i tried to pull it out using the string...IT too busted off!.. now i have a peg that i cant possible get out with a stub of a string in the hole!
Any tips...or should i just take it in and let someone in a guitar shop do it for me?

Yeah, loosen (or remove) your other strings and push it out from the inside. I use a spoon or a Bic-lighter.

if your'e pushing it out from the inside you can usually do it with just your finger but be careful, i woudn't take off ALL the strings, it's not good for the neck on some guitars, try and take of just a few
that's what iv'e done in the past

You can take off all of the strings to do it, otherwise it would be hard to reach in there. Nothing will happen to the neck if you only have the strings off for a few minutes. The neck will only start to warp if you don't have any strings on it for a day or two.

thx all...it worked.... now just a trip to the guitar shop to get me a new peg.... and pretend i have money...and play a taylor for a while!!!!...lol
that's funny.... i have a taylor, i was gonna buy an 855, but seeing as how i just bought a '72 twin reverb, that kinda fell through. now i'm looking for a sunburst strat or red SG (hardtail, no bigsby.)
