what string should i use? recently i tried ghs' acoustics bright bronze 0.001-0.0046. They are fine but after bending it too much, the first string gets broken and i turned to buy a whole new set of martin's string (the one with the red box) 0.012-0.054. They sound just great but my new problem is sad.gif i cant bend too much (you see-the strings are just too thick for me). Instead , i need to tune them so high to play most of the songs that i like. Would anyone suggest the best string for me...plz.. i play all kind of sentimental music and stuff from richard marx, and sometimes guns n roses too. i bend a lot of course, so should i use electric guitar string? Coz my friend who has an acoustic too, recently put on ghs boomers and i think they sounds okay.

Help me out plz..

I would suggest a set of Elixir Custom Light strings 011-052. They sound GREAT and last for a long time. Plus they feel great and are easy for those bends that you want (in my humble opinion and experience). The nanoweb strings have more of a brighter tone. here's the link

These are a little more pricy than the others. As for electric strings, don't even think about it. I once saw electric strings on a gibson at guitar center. And they weren't those acoustic/electric strings that ernie ball makes, they were Fender electric strings (the ends looked like fender). Fecking blokes that guitar center hires. just makes me mad. mad.gif

I have to agree, try the Elixirs. They do cost a little more, but they do last longer. I just switched from Martin Marquis lights to Elixer Polyweb lights (12-53) and can really tell a difference. The Elixers are much easier to bend, and they seem to stay in tune longer. It was kindof weird when I was able to do a 1 1/2 step bend at the 5th fret the other day and my fingers weren't killing me afterwards.

Some love Elixirs, some hate them.

If you hate them, try John Pearse Phospher Bronze, the best smile.gif

I love Elixers and have used them for about 2 years now and I just put Dean Markley's 11's on and I enjoy the change in sound and such... In my opinion elixers are best if you don't play the acoustic as much. if you play frequently, get strings without a coating.
