OK, before you all start, i did the search feature, couldn't find anything of use.

Im not a comlete novice, I have been playing bass and been dedicated to it for quite a long time now, but im going to start to mess around with acoustics now.

Right at the moment, i am ploughing my way through rhcp- road tripping and beatles- blackbird but now i wish to learn chords, as i will have to eventually but i just want some suggestions for easy songs with chords to start off with. i have heard fugees- killing me softly is quite a good example.

Thankyou, Josh

green day...always good to start with
If I could undo all the wrongs that I've caused
Fall to my knees pray for swiftness and just
For I'm just a fool a fool driven to dust
And the world ain't gonna change for me...

"Hey Joe" is a good one because it uses all the open (off-the-nut) chords. The progression is C-G-D-A-E.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

John Jackson -My Teacher and My Old Friend

When the roll is called up yonder he'll be there

Jimmy Buffett stuff is pretty good- I'm not too much higher in rank from a 'beginner' and I've gotten his stuff down...

Hotel California is fun

Try doing some of the lesser known Beatles songs

I'm always looking for stuff that isn't so overplayed like green day and nirvana ect...

dashboard's pretty easy, but beginners should start with standard tuning. Dashboard has 3 songs in standard.

On topic, try free falling, time of your life, round here, I wanna be there, free bird, (this does have a barre chord in it), Atlantic City, hey joe, most guster, losing my religion, Hey Ya (just trying to cover all musical bases)
