I'm in the market for an acoustic amp. I've tried the Fender Acoustasonic, and the SWR California Blonde. So far I like the Fender best for solo fingerstyle guitar (I couldn't get a warm tone out of the SWR). Anybody have recommendations from personal experience? If it matters I play a Martin 000-28EC.

Those SWRs are great. The Roland AC60 seems quite nice too.

I'm surprised I haven't received more opinions about this topic. Maybe I should try the amp forum? It seems there most people talk about electric amps. I thought acoustic fans would have something to say. Any opinions? Fender Acoustasonic? SWR? Marshall? Roland? AER? I want to make my purchase soon...

Personally I liked the SWR Blonde but I also messed with it for about 20 minutes before I got a tone that I loved. However I think acoustics sound the best through a PA system with a simple pre-amp.

I'd love to help you, but unfortunetly I havent had much experience with acoustic amps, i'm more a fan of the mic'd sound. I dont think that there are many in this forum with experience, but you could try the Effects forum.

I second the roland AC-60. I've played a few SWR (Cali and Strawberry blond) Both had very warm tones, but the AC-60 does it for me. As I recall, the Cali was the better of the two.

Trace Elliot, TA60r, it's the size of a lunchbox but has a huge true acoustic sound! Pricey but top quality and longevity usally are.

I use a Behringer ACX1000 Ultracoustic..its great. It has that warm tone that you're looking for I believe. It's a great amp for a great price.

i liked the strawberry blonde from SWR, unfortunately they didn't have a lefty electro acoustic... so I didn't sound very good, but the amp did.
