john mayer sounds like dave, when dave sings solo

as for their direct sound, i have no idea. i've been searching for years, but have found nothing.

one of the biggest influences of them is paul simon, but as we all know, he sounds nothing like dave and vice versa.

but if u do find anyone, give me a pm.

Seriously, I think John Mayer is on a whole diff. league than Dave Mathews..probably because I've seen his dvd compared to Dave Mathews' story tellers n saw a diff.

If you wanna be blown away by acoustics, check out John Mayer. Here's a few things that are a MUST to listen to. You'll be inspired:

-Man On The Side
-Why Georgia
-Comfortable
-Back To You (awesome solo)
-Love Song For No One
-83

I dunno if you really can compare Dave Matthews to any other artist. His style is so unique. He kicks ass and his songs bloody awesome but he's not the most technically talented guitarist out there. Mayer rips on the guitar, but his songs are kinda too sappy and personal for me, his covers of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Hendrix are damn sweet though.

I beg to differ on that one. He may not lay down huge solos, but some of his stuff is fairly intense on the guitar. Not hard once you learn it, but still intense.

oh sure, 'wherehouse' is nuts and there is no doubt about it he is a great acoustic guitarist, but the real musical talent in the Band is Carter. He is sooo sick. I have heard that the new album will be centered around Carter, its going to be phat!
Don't get me wrong man, Dave is my favorite artist and has been for a long time but there are more technically advanced players out there, he would say so himself. Sorry kinda getting off track there. DMB rocks.

Suffice to say that the whole band is just sick.
