I'm pretty sure he has been known to use a J45. Whatever it is, it sounds TERRIBLE. Especially live.

He had Martin D18 or D28, a Harmony, a Gianini 12 string, Ovation doubleneck

I think he used his J45 in the later days of Page & Plant...

he used a J-200 for his recordings on led zep 1. after that it was one of several martin D-18s. as for 12 strings it would probably be a gibson J-185/12 or something. he did use harmony acoustics from time to time.

Why the hell did I mention a J45? It was a J200 I was thinking of... Silly me. I read a mag' article about the Gibson J200, so why did I say J45... Bah!

Thanks guys, was the guitar he used a classical guitar a.k.a nylon string?


It sounds like one on his recordings of babe im gonna leave you and stairway (not so much though)

everything on led zep 1 is a J-200.
