Ok.so I have shoes older than most of you GTUers, but I swear seeing nylon strings that come with a wound G string, a very long time ago...like 25 years. I went into a very exclusive acoustic guitar store, asked for a set and the guy looked at me like I asked him for a corned beef on rye...the old we don't sell 'em...never heard of 'em..try some place else. Any one heard of them?
I thank you in advance for your help.

I think I have. I'm pretty sure that's what comes with "Silk'n'Steel"s too. Dogpoo's link had them.

Set 900W Golden Superior
string showcase>classic guitar>elite series. I see 850 W also

I don't think you can order direct though, and if your dealer doesn't have them already good luck talking him into buying them for you. At least that how it worked out for me. I like the regular 900 set well enough though.

I never tried them. I'm not looking for western acoustic guitar sound on classicals. Those nylon-metal thingies could serve that only.

i have seen classical strings with a wound G string but they were all nylon, no copper coating or anything like that. They were hard to play.
